1. Inversions: El truco del «Espejo» 🪞
Normalmente dices: «I have never seen such a boring film».
- Never… / At no time… (Para algo que nunca pasa)
- Normal: «I never thought that social media would be so addictive.»
- C1 Pro: «Never did I think that social media would be so addictive.»
- Not only… but also… (Para añadir información con fuerza)
- Normal: «Plastic is bad for the ocean and it also kills fish.»
- C1 Pro: «Not only is plastic harmful to the oceans, but it also poses a threat to marine life.»
- Seldom / Rarely… (Para cosas que casi nunca ocurren)
- C1 Pro: «Rarely do we see politicians agreeing on such complex issues.»
- Normal: «I love travelling because I meet new people.»
- C1 Pro: «What I find most appealing about travelling is the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds.»
- The «It» Cleft: Para corregir una idea o ser muy específico.
- Normal: «Money causes the problem.»
- C1 Pro: «It is money that causes the main problem in this situation, not the lack of resources.»
- C1 Pro: «The reason why I’m inclined to disagree is that…»
| Situación | Nivel FCE (B2) | Nivel CAE (C1) – ¡Puntos extra! |
| Hablando de IA | «I have never used AI for my homework.» | «Never have I used AI to complete my assignments.» |
| Opinión de cine | «I like the plot most.» | «What strikes me as most interesting is the plot.» |
| Problemas sociales | «Poverty is a big problem.» | «Not only is poverty a major issue, but it also leads to crime.» |
| Dando una razón | «I think this because it’s cheaper.» | «The main reason why I’d opt for this is its cost-effectiveness.» |
💡 El Hack para el Examen: El momento «Mic Drop»
No intentes memorizar mil frases.
«That’s a fascinating question. What I would say first is that…« (Cleft Sentence)
o
«To be honest, seldom have I thought about this before, but…» (Inversion)
